Choosing a home security company in The Woodlands: what to ask before anyone touches your walls

Ask two questions before you ever ask about price: who answers the phone when something breaks, and can one company make everything work together. The answers separate an installer from a salesperson.

Response time is the product

We recently picked up a customer whose builder-installed system came from a national brand. They had been asking that company to come add equipment, repeatedly, and nobody would respond. That is the trade with the big names: you are one of millions of customers in a queue. With a company our size, you are one of a few hundred, we answer the phone, and you hear back within 24 hours.

One company, one system

Most providers do their one thing: cameras, or alarms, or automation. We are a custom integrator, which means intrusion, cameras, Wi-Fi, lights, locks, and automation installed to work together as one system in one app, and serviced by the people who built it.

The honest part about price

We are a boutique firm and we are not the cheapest. The solutions we install are serviced by us, warrantied, and guaranteed to work, and the 5.0 rating across our Google reviews is what that looks like over time. If the lowest bid is the whole decision, we are probably not your company, and we would rather say that here than surprise you.

What to ask any company, including us

  • Who services the system after the install, and how fast do they respond?
  • How is the wireless equipment protected against interference and tampering?
  • Can everything run in one app, or am I juggling three?
  • Do I get a monitoring certificate for my insurance?
  • Month-to-month or contract, and what does each cost me?
  • Will you register my alarm permit, and is one required where I live?
A system is only as good as the day it mattered.

Questions we get

Do you require long-term contracts?

No. Monitoring runs month-to-month or on a three-year agreement, your call. Most customers choose the agreement; renters usually go month-to-month.

Will you take over an existing system?

If it works, usually yes. Builder-installed panels are our most common takeover, and we tell you straight what is worth keeping.

Are you more expensive than a DIY kit?

Yes, and it is a different product. A kit is equipment. This is a system with a company behind it.
